Google Calendar: A Comprehensive Guide to Organizing Your Content

It seems like I’ve been blogging forever in a pretty unorganized manner. Sometimes I would go on a “blogging binge” and post tons of material, other days I was having a total dry-spell. Once I added Youtube, Social Media, and E-Commerce, I thought to myself “If I don’t get organized I am going to self destruct!” This is why I decided to start using Google Calendar and share with you guys how to use it so you can organize yourself as I did!

What Is Google Calendar and Why do I use it?

If you have a gmail account, some of your perks will include a variety of “in google” apps, and one of those is Google Calendar. To locate it, log into your Gmail Account, Click on Google Apps > Calendar

I like to use Google Calendar because I can sync the calendar between all my devices, to be more specific: My desktop at home, the laptop for when I am away, and I downloaded the app on my phone so I can edit and sync on an as needed basis.

How I organized my days: The basics

I travel between Home and my boyfriends house weekly, and we are pretty much on a schedule that works for us, so I decided to schedule the events that I had to do at home for those days, and then I was flexible with the others.

1. Create a List of the basic things to do. I have a daily checklist that I will publish in the future, so for now this is basically the bones of your work. (ex. Blog Posts, Videos, Placing Orders)
2. Decide on your “off days.” The thing about blogging is that we work at home, so it’s hard to keep track of how much or how little we are working. I am a super worker bee so I have to be really strict on having off days because I could work 24/7.
3. Allocate how much time it will take you to do these tasks realistically, and input these times into your calendar along with your tasks.
4. Sync your calendar with your other devices to keep yourself accountable.

    I love everything Google. But I don’t use the calendar because I am not a calender person. I have a spreadsheet (that runs on google drive, obviously) and fill out my content schedule there.

    Good Idea ..I never knew that google calendar would be that useful. I will start using it …if I find convenient for me will continue to use it.
